We focus on creating scalable, future-ready solutions that drive growth, enhance customer experiences, and deliver tangible results.
Position overview
We are hiring two Junior Software Engineers (Java Backend) to join our Backend Team. You will work with senior engineers and the team lead on live SaaS products in our portfolio built with Java, Spring Boot 3.x, and Spring Cloud microservices (Maven multi-module repos).
This role is for fresh graduates or candidates with up to one year of experience who want mentorship, code reviews, and hands-on exposure to production backends (REST APIs, databases, Docker-based runs, and CI).
What you will work on
REST APIs and backend features in Spring Boot (Java 21 on new services; some legacy modules on older Java with guidance).
Microservices basics: working inside a single service, calling others via OpenFeign, routing through an API Gateway, and service discovery (Eureka), under senior direction.
Databases: PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server, Spring Data JPA, repositories, and Liquibase migrations (with review).
Security basics: OAuth2 / JWT and Keycloak integration patterns (configured and reviewed by seniors).
Integrations (as assigned, with support): payment webhooks (HyperPay, MyFatoorah, Telr on healthcare modules), email/SMS, and Firebase push notifications.
Quality: JUnit 5, Mockito; manual/API checks with Postman; contributing to team test automation where applicable.
DevOps exposure: Docker (local and shared compose setups), GitHub Actions (build/test/deploy on some products), and container-based deployments (e.g. Dokploy),not owning production infra alone.
(Exact product assignment depends on team priorities and onboarding.)
Key responsibilities
Implement and maintain backend features in Java / Spring Boot from specs and user stories.
Build and extend RESTful APIs; follow team conventions and OpenAPI / Swagger (SpringDoc) where the service uses it.
Write clean, testable code; fix bugs and incorporate code review feedback.
Work with SQL and JPA/Hibernate (queries, entities, basic performance awareness).
Collaborate with frontend, QA, and senior backend engineers in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Use Git (feature branches, pull requests) and team branching rules.
Follow logging, error-handling, and deployment checklists for dev/staging (production changes with senior backup).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
0–1 year of experience (internships, final-year projects, or freelance backend work count).
Solid Java fundamentals: OOP, collections, exceptions, basic I/O.
Spring Boot basics: controllers, services, dependency injection, Spring Data JPA.
REST and JSON; ability to test APIs (Postman or similar).
SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL).
Git (clone, branch, commit, pull request).
English for tickets, documentation, and team communication.
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and deliver consistently.
Nice to have (not mandatory)
Academic or personal project: Spring Boot + database.
Docker: run a Spring Boot app in a container locally.
Basic Redis (caching concepts).
Any frontend exposure (helps when reading API requirements).
Maven multi-module project experience.
Exposure to Cucumber or RestAssured (team uses these on some products).
What we offer
Salary range: PKR 50,000 – 75,000 per month (based on profile and interview).
Provident fund and benefits per company policy.
Flexible remote work (subject to team norms).
Structured mentorship from senior backend engineers and team lead.
Exposure to multiple SaaS products (subscriptions, payments, notifications, identity, AI features).
Growth path toward mid-level Java backend engineer.
